The knot, and what it stands for

The triquetra — three arcs woven without beginning or end — is read in Celtic tradition as faith, love and unity. In folk practice the same knot is worn as a witch knot: a charm you keep at the throat to hold your own energy in and other people’s out.

The heart at the centre is your birth month’s stone. Tradition has it that the two together keep you grounded while whatever isn’t meant for you finds its way back out.

    Size & materials

    Pendant 26.7 × 20 mm (1.05 × 0.79 in). Faceted blue-green bicolour crystal with a heart-cut birthstone at the centre.

High-quality copper core, heavily silver plated. Adjustable box chain: 45 cm (17.7 in) plus a 5 cm (2 in) extension, so it sits anywhere between 45 and 50 cm (17.7 and 19.7 in). Lobster claw clasp.

    Care

Take it off before showering, swimming or sleeping. Perfume and hairspray go on first, the necklace after.

Wipe the knotwork with a soft dry cloth. No jewellery dip, no alcohol — silver plating does not survive either.

    Shipping

Orders are processed in 1–2 business days. It ships in its jewellery box, so it can go straight out as a gift.

US / CAN / UK: 5–8 business days

    How it works

    Choose it, then wear it

    1. 1

      Choose your month

Twelve stones, one for each birth month. The knotwork and the blue-green crystal stay the same; the heart at the centre changes.

    2. 2

      Wear it at the throat

The chain adjusts between 45 and 50 cm (17.7 and 19.7 in), which sits it around the collarbone — where the knot is traditionally worn.

    3. 3

      Leave it on

It is light enough to forget you have it on. In the old practice the charm is meant to be worn daily, not saved for occasions.

Why people wear the witch knot

    A knot with no beginning

Three arcs woven into one continuous line. Celtic tradition reads it as faith, love and unity; folk practice knows the same shape as the witch knot, worn for protection.

    Your stone at the centre

A heart-cut birthstone sits in the middle of the weave. Choosing your own month is what turns a pretty pendant into something that belongs to you.

Made to be worn every day

Copper core, heavy silver plating, open-worked knot. 26.7 mm tall and light on the chain, so it does not become the thing you take off at lunchtime.

Some people wear a charm. Some people wear armour.

Some people wear a charm. Some people wear armour.

The witch knot has been worn at the throat for centuries for one reason: to hold your own energy in and keep everyone else’s out.

You do not have to believe the legend for it to do something. Putting it on in the morning is a small, deliberate act, and most people say that is the part that sticks.

    The knot of twilight

    The knot of twilight

Old stories call it the knot of twilight — the charm for whispers, jealousy and intentions people do not say out loud.

The blue-green crystal behind the weave is faceted, so it changes with the light: near black in a dark room, almost turquoise in daylight.

    Twelve stones, one for you

    Twelve stones, one for you

Garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, diamond, emerald, alexandrite, ruby, peridot, sapphire, tourmaline, citrine, tanzanite — a heart cut for every month of the year.

It is also why it works as a gift: you choose their month, and they know it was chosen rather than picked off a shelf.

Close enough to see the work

Close enough to see the work

The knotwork is open, not stamped — you can see through the weave, and the braid pattern runs along the inside edges of each arc.

Copper core with heavy silver plating, an adjustable box chain and a lobster claw clasp that actually holds.

    FAQ

    What is a witch knot?

It is the triquetra — three interlocked arcs drawn in one unbroken line. Celtic tradition reads it as faith, love and unity; in folk practice it is worn as a protective charm. Both readings belong to the same symbol.

    Which birthstone do I pick?

The month you were born. January garnet, February amethyst, March aquamarine, April diamond, May emerald, June alexandrite, July ruby, August peridot, September sapphire, October tourmaline, November citrine, December tanzanite.

    Are the stones real gemstones?

No — they are faceted crystal cut in the colour of each birthstone. That is what keeps a pendant this size at this price.

    How long is the chain?

45 cm (17.7 in) with a 5 cm (2 in) extension, so it adjusts between 45 and 50 cm. That sits the pendant around the collarbone.

    Will it tarnish?

It is heavily silver plated over a copper core. Kept dry and away from perfume it holds its shine; worn in the shower or the pool it will not.

Does it come ready to give?

Yes. It ships in a jewellery box, so it can go straight into a bag without repackaging.

I have a small collection of protective pieces. This has become the one I reach for. It is heavier than a pendant that size should be, in a good way. Feels substantial on the chain.

    I
    Ilaria Bonaventura

The weight of it on the chain is noticeable in a comforting way. Very light pendants feel like nothing. This one you know is there.

    O
    Ondine Ferrero

Lovely piece and it carries what I wanted it to carry. It took longer to arrive than the site said. Worth the wait in the end.

    F
    Fiachra Mulligan

Solid piece and the tradition is respected in the design. I would have preferred a heavier chain. It has not broken so I may be being fussy.

    N
    Nuala Kirwan

I wear it with a simple jumper. It does all the work. The openwork means it does not look heavy. Traditional without looking dated.

    L
    Lorcan Whelan

Nice piece and my wife likes the heritage connection. The chain is thinner than the pendant deserves in my opinion. It has held up fine so far.

    V
    Valentyna Kravets

Pretty necklace and comfortable to wear. It took nearly three weeks to arrive and tracking was not updated. The product is fine now it is here.

    Y
    Yewande Fagbemi

I nearly did not order because the price made me suspicious, i am glad I did. The quality is higher than the price implies.

    Adaeze Onwuka

I gave this to my mother in law and we do not have an easy relationship. She wore it to Sunday lunch two weeks running — small thaw but I noticed.

    S
    Sunniva Hargrove

Three months in and the knotwork has not darkened or tarnished. I take it off for the shower which I think is the whole secret. It is still bright now.

    B
    Barnabas Achterberg

Nice gift and it was well received. The stone in the middle is a little smaller than the photos suggested. Still a good looking piece.

    A
    Adaeze Onyekwere

Saw it on a video where someone explained the protection meaning. That is what made me buy. The piece itself turned out to be lovely as well.

    Z
    Zainab Ogundipe

Nice piece and I wear it a lot. The clasp migrates round to the front through the day. I just spin it back.

    M
    Melisande Tagoe

It goes with everything I own and carries a meaning I care about. That combination is what I was searching for. It has become my default necklace.

    N
    Nimue Oduya

Really like this and I wear it under my clothes daily. The clasp occasionally works its way round to the front, common with box chains I think.

    I
    Ifeoma Chukwuka

Wearing my own birthstone feels sillier than it is until you actually do it. There is something to having a piece that is specifically yours. I get it now.

    M
    Maire Guilfoyle

Lovely symbol and a decent piece for the money. It arrived about two weeks after ordering which was slower than advertised. I have no complaints otherwise.

    C
    Chiamanda Nwakanma

Found it through a video about the symbolism rather than a product ad. That is why I trusted it. The piece lived up to the story.

    I
    Isabeau Marchesini

January garnet is a deep wine red which is more grown up than I expected — i had pictured something brighter. Prefer it this way.

    D
    Dorothea Villalba

Christmas present for my mum with her January garnet. She wore it to every family thing over the holidays — three of my aunts asked where it came from.

    M
    Marisabelle Toussaint

Comfortable and pretty and I wear it most days. It did arrive around two weeks later than I expected, and the piece itself is nice.

    B
    Beverly Nakashima

No green marks on my neck which is my usual problem with plated pieces. I have sensitive skin and expected trouble. None so far after four months.

    H
    Henrietta Buttigieg

I like it and wear it a few times a week. It is noticeably smaller in person than in the listing photos, it is still pretty on.

    O
    Orla Hennessy

i have a claddagh on one hand and now this at my throat. my mother would approve. she always said wear your heritage where people can see it

    E
    Ekaterina Sobolev

Good everyday necklace and it layers well, the bail is a little tight for a thicker chain if you want to swap. I have kept the original.

    F
    Fionnuala Prendergast

I have Scottish heritage on my mother's side and Irish on my father's, and this knot belongs to both which is why I chose it. Convenient as well as meaningful.

    N
    Ngozi Emeka

Bought three, one for me and two for my sisters, each with our own month. The chain and knot are identical so they read as a set. Lovely for family photos.

    G
    Genevieve Coppola

Bought it for my niece who just finished nursing school. The knot symbolism fit the occasion. She sent me a photo wearing it at her ceremony.

    C
    Clemence Dupuis

I was convinced it would turn my neck green within a week. Three months later, nothing. The plating is heavier than most costume jewellery.

    G
    Griselda Ferrante

Bought October for my niece and the pink is a proper rose rather than a hot pink. Suits a younger person without being childish. She loves it and wears it out.

    P
    Priscilla Nyong'o

i layer it with a shorter chain and it works because the pendant has enough presence to be the lower piece. no tangling between the two — thats rare in my experience

    Y
    Yolanda Kirkbride

got it for my granddaughter for her confirmation. the faith love unity meaning was right for the occasion — she wore it on the day and still wears it

    O
    Odhran Fennelly

Bought for my wife and she likes the meaning. The pendant is smaller than the listing photos led us to expect. She wears it anyway.
