I’ve worn 7 of the world’s best perfumes.Only 1 thing was still on me at midnight — and it wasn’t a perfume.

Let me save you three years of respraying.

Over the past 3 years I’ve worn Baccarat Rouge 540, a Creed my manager swore by, my mother’s Guerlain, two different Diors, a niche oil a stranger recommended to me in a lift — and finally, the thing my own customers kept asking me about.

Six failures. One winner. Here’s the difference:

    1. It smells like me, not like a spray

The first thing I noticed was what wasn’t there. No sharp alcohol opening. No cloud in the lift. No twenty minutes of waiting for it to “settle.” It was just there, close to me, warm — the way a scent smells on someone who has been wearing it all day, not someone who sprayed it in the car.

    2. People started asking what I was wearing

    2. People started asking what I was wearing

I sell fragrance for a living. Nobody had asked me that in years. Now it happens in the queue at the bakery, in the lift at work, at my sister’s. And I never know what to answer, because the honest answer sounds ridiculous: it isn’t a perfume. It’s my shirt.

    3. No respraying, no bottle in my bag

    3. No respraying, no bottle in my bag

I used to re-spray at 11am, again after lunch, again before going out. I carried a travel bottle in every bag I own. Now I get dressed once. That’s the whole routine. My scent doesn’t fade at 2pm, because it never sat on my skin waiting to evaporate.

    4. It’s still there after the dryer

    4. It’s still there after the dryer

This is the part I didn’t believe, and it’s the only part that matters. Most scented laundry smells wonderful in the drawer and disappears in the machine. Mine comes out of the dryer still carrying it — not a cloud, not a candle. Close, warm, and still there days later in the wardrobe.

    5. One capsule. Nothing to measure, nothing to layer

Wash, stain treatment and scent are concentrated into a single capsule that dissolves completely. No cap to unscrew, no sticky ring in the cupboard, no fabric softener, no extra step. It goes in the empty drum, the laundry goes on top, and that’s it. Cold water works — it’s actually recommended.

    6. Why it works, and why perfume never did

    6. Why it works, and why perfume never did

Here’s what nobody at a fragrance counter will tell you: every perfume, at every price, is built to evaporate. It’s designed to lift off warm skin — that’s the whole mechanism. And clothes washed in ordinary detergent come out of the dryer empty, so they spend the day drinking whatever you sprayed on. Your laundry is part of the problem.

This works the other way round: the fragrance is washed into the fibre during the cycle and holds on to it, so the heat of the dryer doesn’t cook it off. You’re not wearing scent on top of your clothes. Your clothes are the scent.

Perfume evaporates off skin; Avera fragrance is held by the fibre

    7. The women who aren’t allowed to wear perfume already do this

    7. The women who aren’t allowed to wear perfume already do this

I’m not allowed to wear fragrance on the shop floor. Neither are perfumers, dressers, or the floor staff in serious restaurants. We all still smell like something. After I switched, I found out how many of us had quietly landed on the same answer — not influencers, women who simply aren’t permitted to spray anything and refuse to smell like nothing.

    8. Start here — and don’t guess your scent

    8. Start here — and don’t guess your scent

The one mistake everyone makes is buying one scent blind and being stuck with it. Don’t. French Saffron (velvety, soft) and Siberian Pine (clean, crisp) are the two our customers come back for most — start with either. Australian Sandalwood is the loudest of the six: take it if you want to be noticed, skip it if you’re sensitive to strong scent. With 15 free capsules in the box, you don’t have to pick just one.
