    Avera Spin Mop Head Refills

    Dhs. 112.34

People who say they hate their spin mop are usually still using the head it came with. That head is microfibre and nothing else — it glides over a dried-on mess and pushes it around, which is why you end up on your knees with a cloth anyway.

    • A 15 cm scrub pad built into the centre of the microfibre
    • Lifts and scrubs in the same pass — no kneeling with a cloth
    • Machine washable and reusable, wet or dry
    • Fits the O-Cedar EasyWring 1-tank spin bucket

It fits the O-Cedar EasyWring 1-tank spin system — the red bucket with the foot pedal. The mount is the triangular clip that system uses.

Check your bucket before ordering: it does not fit other brands of spin mop, and the mounts are not interchangeable. Avera is not affiliated with or endorsed by O-Cedar.

The microfibre loops around the outside do what the stock head does — lift dust, hair and water. The 15 cm pad in the centre adds friction, so pressing down actually scrubs instead of smearing.

Because the pad is in the middle, it sits under your weight when you lean on the handle. That is the whole design.

Hardwood, tile, marble, stone, cement, vinyl, glass and bamboo. Also works on tubs, shower walls and skirting boards if you take the head off the pole.

On sealed wood, wring it out properly — damp, not soaked. That is a rule for any mop, not just this one.

Machine or by hand. No fabric softener: it coats the microfibre and kills the pickup. Air dry rather than tumble dry.

Three in the pack is the point — one on the mop, one in the wash, one dry in the cupboard.

Why you end up on your knees

The head is the problem, not the mop

A spin mop is a good bucket and a wringer attached to a piece of microfibre. The bucket is fine. The microfibre is the part that gives up the moment something has dried on.

Loops absorb. They do not abrade. So the stock head lifts the water off the mark and leaves the mark.

    • Microfibre alone cannot scrub Loops are brilliant at absorbing and terrible at abrading. Against something dried on, the stock head lifts the water and leaves the mark.
    • The pad sits under your weight Fifteen centimetres of abrasive in the centre of the head — exactly where the pole meets it and exactly where you press when you lean on it.
    • So the second tool disappears No going back with a cloth, no kneeling on the kitchen floor for the one patch that would not come up.
Wet deep cleaning and dry deep cleaning
    Two ways to use it

    Dry first, then wet

Most people fill the bucket and start mopping, which turns the hair and grit on the floor into a paste and spreads it about.

Run the same head over the floor dry first. It picks all of that up, and the water you then use stays clean far longer.

    • Dry: hair and dust Run it over the floor dry and the loops pick up hair, dust and grit before any water is involved. Half the job, no bucket.
    • Wet: grease and dirty water Soaked and wrung, it holds a lot of water and gives it back — and the pad works on whatever the water alone was never going to lift.
    • Then into the machine Normal wash, no fabric softener, air dry. Three in the pack means one is always clean and dry when you want it.

I was about to replace the whole mop. Turns out it was the head that was useless, not the bucket.

I use one dry first for the hair, then wet for the actual mopping. Two jobs, same head.

Three of them means there is always a clean one. That sounds obvious and it changed my Sundays.

Came up fine in the machine. Do not use fabric softener on them though, I learned that the hard way.

    Nothing here is an accident

    Every detail has a reason

Why the pad is in the centre

That is where the pole meets the head and where your weight goes when you lean on the handle. An abrasive strip round the edge would look busier and do nothing.

    Why microfibre stays around it

The loops are still the best thing there is for lifting water, dust and hair. The pad is not there to replace them — it is there to add the one thing they cannot do.

    Why the mount is triangular

Because the head has to stay on while the bucket spins it at speed. A round mount slips; the triangle cannot rotate against the plate.

    Why three and not one

One on the mop, one in the wash, one dry in the cupboard. A single head means either mopping with a damp one or not mopping.

    Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my spin mop?

It fits the O-Cedar EasyWring 1-tank system — the red bucket with the foot pedal — using that system's triangular mount.

It does not fit other brands of spin mop. Check your bucket before ordering. Avera is not affiliated with or endorsed by O-Cedar.

How is it different from the head that came with my mop?

The stock head is microfibre loops only. This one has a 15 cm scrub pad woven into the centre, so it abrades as well as absorbs.

Will the pad scratch my floors?

It is a textile pad, not a wire one. It is used on hardwood, marble, tile, stone, cement, vinyl, glass and bamboo. On anything polished or delicate, try a corner first — sensible with any new pad.

    Can I use it dry?

Yes, and it is worth doing. Dry it picks up hair, dust and grit, which means the water you then use stays cleaner for longer.

    How do I wash them?

Machine or by hand, normal detergent. No fabric softener — it coats microfibre and kills the pickup. Air dry rather than tumble dry.

    How long does one last?

Months of regular use per head, and you have three, so the rotation stretches that out considerably. They go when the loops start to flatten.

    Does it fit the wringer?

Yes, it is sized to the same 36 cm head the system is built around, so it spins and wrings the way the original does.

Can I use it on walls and tubs?

Yes. Take the head off the pole for tubs and shower walls, or leave it on for skirting boards and the tops of doors.

    Skip the softener

I clean office suites at night and mop miles of tile. These cover more per pass so I finish earlier. Wash them out at the end of the week and they come back fine.

Went on my EasyWring plate and stayed put through a lot of wringing. The triangle keeps it from spinning off. That was the design question I had.

    works well, fringes soften

The scrub pad handles dried spots and the fit on my bucket is right. After a couple months of regular use the fringes are flatter than when they were new. Still doing the job so I am not really complaining.

    T
    Trey Ashenfelter

Fits my bucket and the coverage is wider than my old head. Only thing is the fringes take a solid day to fully dry after washing.

    Grout came back

My son spilled a whole bowl of soup and left it to dry. The pad and warm water took it off the tile. No scraping was required at all.

    solid, verify your bucket

The heads are good and the pad handles dried messes well. Make sure you have the single tank spin bucket before you order, mine works but I had to check. Cleaning wise no complaints.

Fits my EasyWring plate exactly and the triangle keeps it from spinning loose. Wrings out clean with the pedal. Simple and it does the job.

Old head was matted flat and I did not notice how bad until I saw the new one. Night and day on the pickup. Should have replaced it a year sooner.

    Always one clean

One goes dry over the whole house on Fridays for dust. Wet mop Saturday with a clean one. Having three makes that work without laundry in between.

My cat knocks her water bowl over constantly and the tile around it was grimy. Dry pass then wet with the pad and it is done in two minutes.

    good, minor gripe

Works well and washes clean every time. I did make the mistake of using fabric softener the first time and it stopped grabbing dirt until I rewashed it plain. My fault, not theirs.

    Works well

I have a beagle who sheds year round and the fringes grab it. My old head just pushed the hair into a pile in the corner. This picks it up.

    Dry then wet

I keep one dry head for dust and one wet for mopping. Having three makes that possible without doing laundry every day.

    grout looks lighter

The old head was just moving water around the floor. This one has grip to it so you feel it catching dirt instead of gliding over it. Big difference on the entry tile.

    pad in the middle wins

I am 76 and I do my own floors still. Not having to kneel for spots is the entire reason this works for me. The pad sits right where I lean.

Fit is good and it cleans much better than stock. It holds a lot of water so I wring it twice before mopping.

    Tile looks new

My daughter spilled paint from a school project and it dried on the vinyl overnight. Pad took most of it and the rest came with a second pass. I thought the floor was ruined.

    big upgrade

My entry gets salt and slush all winter and it used to smear. This lifts it instead. Corners by the door too which the old head never reached.

    good with one small thing

Works fine and it is definitely better than the original. Only knocking a star because the fringes shed a small amount in the first wash. After that they were solid.

    Dried spots gone

I clean vacation rentals between guests and these save me time. The pad handles whatever got dried onto the kitchen floor. Wash them between properties.

The head I had was matted flat and stopped absorbing anything. These soak up properly and wring out. A totally different experience now.

    fine, just check compatibility

Good scrubbing head, the pad in the middle does work on dried messes. I ordered without checking and had to confirm my bucket was the single tank type first. It fits mine, just do that check before you buy.

    Went right on

Went on the plate, locked in with the triangle, no slipping. Wrings fine with the pedal. It is solid all around.
